PKRA Club Action - Phoenix, AZ 8 July 2000
Carl gets all four wheels off the ground during practice for PKRA Club Race.
The new track challenges the drivers courage, concentration and air navigation skills with a double bump short of turn 9. The fastest Karts get all four wheels in the air and a gentle touch is required to land the kart pointing into the apex of the turn. Carl gives a clinic in this classic Gil Ribelas photograph with the left visibly several inches off the ground. The race: won first race under the lights in the new configuration with a dominating run from last to first to last to first after a second lap off roading adventure. Driver claims that visor glare from somewhat shaky light placement was the cause, but crew opinion was that being up until 1 am the night before led to driver snooze attract.
